25,000 toilets for I/W under Swachh Bharat Mission

Under Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Campaign), a total of 25, 000 sanitary toilets would be constructed in areas covered by Panchayats in Imphal West at an estimated cost of Rs 12, 000 for each toilet, informed L Swamikanta, Director of Communication Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) .
He was speaking as functional president of a one-day sensitization programme on Swachh Bharat Mission (GRAMIN) for Pradhans of Imphal West District organized by CCDU at its training hall located at Lamphelpat here today.
L Swamikanta further said that Swachh Bharat Mission aims at constructing sanitary toilet in each household in villages to maintain cleanliness in the country.
Cleanliness is much necessary to prevent from many communicable diseases.
Every individual should adopt the habit of cleanliness as it would make the society a clean and healthy place to live in, he added.
Asserting that the role of Pradhans and Members in successful implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission is pivotal, he appealed to the people to extend support to the ambitious mission.
Today's function was also attended by Y Dashumati, Adhyaksha of Imphal West Zilla Parishad as chief guest; L Ibomcha, Addl Chief Engineer of PHED and L Brojendro, Executive Engineer of PHED as guests of honor.
