69 Bn CRPF lends a hand to Tabitha Children Home

As a part of its Civic Action Programme, 69 Bn Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under the aegis ofRajesh Kumar, IPS, IGP Manipur & Nagaland sector, has installed drinking water facilities along with water storage tank, heavy duty RO system etc at Tabitha Children Home, Raphei Valley Mantripukhri yesterday.
Speaking at the event at Tabitha Children Home, Commandant of 69 Bn CRPF Dharm Prakash said that the facilities were installed to aid the need of the children.
CRPF has taken up a number of such programmes as part of its Civic Action programme.
CRPF has provided building materials for constructions of toilet and bathrooms, sports items for clubs to encourage youth in sports activities.
Essential medicines, wheel chairs, walkers, hearing aids have been also provided in several places, he said.
Founder, executive director of Tabitha Children Home, Thanshok Kamkra said, the home is a unit of NSCP (Network Service for Community Participation) and it came into existence on August 23, 2009 .
The home houses HIV/AIDS affected children, he said.
The home has 33 children between the age of 6 to 18 .
22 children have HIV/AIDS.
All the children are studying at local schools.
The home has got no funding or support from any financial institution (both Govt & NGOs) .
No Minister has ever visited the home, he said seeking attention of the Government and NGOs.
The home is being run by selling flowers and piggery.
BSF Koirengei and CRPF Mantripukhri supply the feeds for the pigs, he said.
