EEVFAM bags first Mukul Sinha Human Rights Award

The Extra judicial Execution Victim Families Association, Manipur (EEVFAM) has been given the first Mukul Sinha Human Rights Award.
The award carries a memento, a citation and a cheque of Rs 50,000 .
The award was handed over to Ningthoujam Edina secretary of EEVFAM in a function entitled the Convention of Recalling Democracy at the Town Hall of Ahamedabad organised by Jan Sangharsh Manch and the Gujarat Federation of Trade Unions to mark the death Anniversary of Mukul Sinha.

In a felicitation programme held on Wednesday at the office of Human Rights Alert, Kwakeithel, Edina disclosed that late Mukul Sinha represented EEVFAM before the Supreme Court appointed Commission set up following association's petition filed in the apex court on the 1528 cases of extra judicial execution in Manipur.
Mukul's ways of conducting cases had helped the Commission to dig up the long suppressed issues behind the fake encounters.
Babloo Loitongbam, director Human Rights Alert, Manipur who went to receive award was also felicitated during the function.
