Six more including Khasim Ruiva join BJP

Six more individuals including new and old faces have rushed to join the State BJP with the party's president Thounajam Chaoba claiming that the party is gaining more strength in the run up to the scheduled Lok Sobha polls in the State.
The six individuals who have joined the BJP are former Minister Dr Khasim Ruivah from Ukhrul, former Saikul Constituency MLA Daukhongmang Khongsai, former Secretary of Sagolband Constituency Block Congress Committee Chabungbam Joykumar, former Joint Director of Health Services, Manipur Mangshatabam Birchandra, former General Secretary of NCP, Heingang Constituency N Ratan (Kapu) Meetei and former Member of NPF, Karong Constituency, Senapati Raphie.
A simple reception function was held to welcome the six new members at the BJP unit office here at Nityapak Chuthek on Wednesday.
At the occasion, State BJP president Th Chaoba claimed the party is gaining more strength since more individuals are joining it as they have faith in the saffron party.
He also disclosed that more personalities from major political parties in the State are already in the pipeline to join the party, and that their names would be announced soon.
Chaoba further informed that the party would be organizing a huge election rally in Noney tomorrow, as part of the party's poll campaign which is currently at top gear.
Deputy Chief Minister of Goa, Francis D'souza would take part in the rally, the former MP also informed, saying during the public rally D'souza is likely to clear the air that the BJP is not an anti-Christian party.
D'souza would also participate in elections rallies to be held in Ukhrul and Chandel districts, he said.
The BJP leader said he wants to thank the Election Commission of India (ECI) for issuing early notification for the upcoming 16th Lok Sabha polls which would be held in two-phases in the State for the two seats.
Election to the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency would take place on April 9 while the voting for the Inner Constituency has been scheduled for April 17 .
