WY tablets seized, woman held with heroin

A team of Moreh Police led by SI Kaiminthang Tungnung seized 11.263 kg of WY tablets worth Rs 2.25 crore from near the Indo-Myanmar border Sunrise Club ground on Wednesday.
However, the drug peddler managed to escape and fled towards Myanmar.
According to a source, a patrolling team of Moreh police spotted a person on a Kenbo bike heading from Myanmar's Namphalong Market towards Sunrise ground, Moreh.
When signaled to stop, the person threw a bag and fled towards Myanmar.
On opening of the abandoned bag, WY tablets weighing 11.263 kg were found in 10 packets.
The seized tablets is estimated to worth around Rs 2.25 crore in international market, it added.
Meanwhile, a team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) PS on Wednesday arrested a woman with 651 gm of heroin, estimated to worth around Rs 13 lakh, from Kwakta Bazar area.
The arrested woman has been identified as Lhingneikim alias Kimneo Kipgen (30) w/o Letkholal alias Lalboi Khongsai of Lhanghoi Veng under Churachandpur PS.
As per a police report, the team on checking and frisking operation in and around Kwakta area on Wednesday arrested Lhingneikim around 3.30 pm with 50 soap cases containing 651 gm of heroin.
After preliminary verification, it was found that the drug consignment was delivered from Moreh to Churachandpur.
Lhingneikim took the task of transporting the drug to Kwakta area from Churachandpur.
NAB PS has taken up a case in this regard.
