MLA Nemcha hails PM for 'gifting' oxygen plant

A Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Plant was inaugurated by chief minister N Biren at Community Health Centre, Saikul in Kangpokpi district, on Thursday.
The Saikul plant was one among the 35 PSA Oxygen Plants established under Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund across 35 states and union territories which Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched on Thursday at AIIMS, Rishikesh in Uttarakhand.
The Saikul PSA Oxygen Plant will generate 250 litres per minute.
The inaugural ceremony held at CHC Saikul was attended by local MLA Yamthong Haokip and Kangpokpi AC MLA Nemcha Kipgen apart from Saikul CSOs leaders including Kuki Inpi, KWU, KSO, former Vice chairman, ADC Sadar Hills, Thangjakam Misao, CMO Kangpokpi Dr Aneng Haokip, Dr Paotinlal Haokip, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kangpokpi, Dr John Lupheng, MO i/c CHC Saikul, and other officials and religious leaders.
MLA Nemcha unveiled the plague of PSA Oxygen Plant installation at CHC Saikul while MLA Yamthohg Haokip performed the ribbou cutting and opening of the oxygen plant gate in the presence of various other dignitaries.
Speaking at the function, Nemcha described as a joyous moment for the people of Saikul in particular and Kangpokpi district in general that the Prime Minister has given them such an oxygen plant in Saikul area.
She continued that it was all because of a collective effort of the people and medical staff and "I am truly satisfied and happy to experience the unity of the people, CSOs, the local MLA, Churches leaders, and the government officials and employees in the hill town".
She also said that the present BJP government has been tirelessly working for the development and welfare of the people while appealing to the people of Saikul to extend cooperation and give another chance to the party to form the government in order to witness many more development projects and changes in Saikul area.
MLA Nemcha Kipgen further said that with the installation of the PSA Oxygen Plant, medical oxygen infrastructure has been boosted in the area and it will help save many precious lives.
MLA Yamthong Haokip extended gratitude to the people of Saikul for their support and cooperation in constructing the PSA Oxygen Plant in a very short period of time and conveyed gratitude to all the authorities concerned for their tireless efforts in installing the oxygen plant.
CMO Kangpokpi Dr Aneng Haokip, while stressing the importance of Covid-19 vaccination, said that if at least 70 percent of the adult population in Kangpokpi district could be vaccinated, "we could save lives of our children even if the third wave arrives which is expected to hit hard the children".
Dr John Lupheng, i/c MO of CHC Saikul, said that it was all because of the tireless and collective effort of everyone that the PSA Oxygen Plant at the hospital could be inaugurated.
After the inaugural event, all the participants including MLAs Nemcha Kipgen and Yamthong Haokip attended the virtual inauguration of the PSA Oxygen Plants by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rishikesh and listened to the speech of the Prime Minister.
Till now, a total of 1,224 PSA Oxygen Plants have been established under the PM CARES Fund across the country and more than 1,100 plants have been commissioned providing output of over 1,750 MT oxygen per day.
