NPF likely to announce candidates on Feb 2

The Naga People's Front (NPF) is all set to announce names of its candidates for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election on February 2 at its central office located in Nagaland capital, Kohima.
As per sources close to the party, as many as 45 intending candidates from 16 assembly constituencies have collected ticket application form from the party's Manipur unit office.
Some assembly constituencies have only one intending candidate but in some segments 5/6 intending candidates are seeking the ticket.
Those seeking party ticket are from 43-Phungyar, 44-Ukhrul, 45-Chingai, 41-Chandel, 42-Tengnoupal, 53-Tamenglong, 52-Tamei, 47-Karong, 48-Mao, 49-Tadubi, 40-Jiribam, 46-Saikul, 51-Saitu, 50-Kangpokpi, 57-Henglep and 58-Churachandpur assembly constituencies.
Sources further informed that programme for ticket distribution function on February 2 will begin with welcome address by Y Vikheho Swu, MLA & Legislature in-charge, NPF Manipur state unit followed by blessing and pledge ceremony for all the candidates by Rev Dr Vevo Phesao.
NPF president (central) Dr Shiirhozelie Liezietsu and Ticket Selection Committee chairman MP Dr Lorho S Pfoze, working president and election committee chairman Samuel Risom and NPF Legislator leader TR Zeliang will also address the gathering.
