Miscreants torch school van in Pallel

Pallel, September 22 2015:
Unknown miscreants burnt down a stationary school van along Aimol road at Pallel in Thoubal district late last night.
The van was parking on the roadside after one of its front tyres got punctured on its way.
The Tata Magic van bearing registration number MN 05C 1922 had to stop in front of Cherith Foundation along Aimol road at around 3.00 pm.
The driver had to leave the vehicle behind whole night as all tyre repairing shops were closed due to a 24-hour bandh called by National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM) .
At around 12.30 am, some unknown miscreants torched the van.
The ill-fated school van belongs to one Takhellambam Mukta @ Tombi (40) of Pallel bazar.
One of the nearby residents who joined others in dousing the fire last night said that at around 12.30 am they found the vehicle being engulfed by the fire.
Speaking to media persons, Asem Nanao, the driver of the school van said he he parked the vehicle along the road as one of its front tyres got punctured.
While demanding all concerned to clarify the incident, Nanao also appealed to the concerned authority to book the culprit (s) at the earliest.
He also expressed dissatisfaction over the alleged irresponsive attitude of the School Van Association of Pallel area even after the matter was informed to it.
