Training programme concludes

The three days training programme on 'Scientific methods of beekeeping', organised by AICRP on Honey bees & Pollinators, CAU Imphal Centre, concluded at College of Agriculture, CAU Imphal today.
Speaking at the function, Principal Investigator, AICRP on Honey bee & Pollinators, CAU Imphal Centre Dr Kh Ibohal stated that earlier, bee keeping was taken up only for the purpose of getting honey.
However, it is important to be mindful of the benefits of bee keeping.
Many products of bee have proved to be beneficial and are used in formulating cosmetic products as well, he mentioned.
He informed that the rate of Royal Jelly, which is also a bee product, in the market ranges from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 .
Dean, College of Agriculture, CAU Imphal Prof Indira Sarangthem and Dean, College of Food Technology, CAU Imphal Prof Y Jekendra were present at the programme.
Certificates were distributed to the trainees.
