Imphal, June 14 2013 :
Demanding the State government to conduct the State Pre-Medical Test which was earlier cancelled by a resolution of the State Cabinet, the parents and guardians of aspiring medical students held a sit-in-protest at Keishampat Yumjao Lairembi Shanglen here today.
Talking to media persons on the sideline of the protest demonstration, Secretary of All Manipur MBBS/BDS Entrance Examination Parents' and Guardians' Association K Arun Meitei said that the sudden cancellation of State PMT just two days before the test by the State Cabinet citing some ruling of the Supreme Court is condemnable.
There is no such ruling of the Supreme Court which allows cancellation of a proposed PMT.
The State government has duped thousands of aspiring medical students with its dictatorial decision, Arun asserted.
The Secretary further maintained that the State government should come out with a response for the cancellation of PMT and conduct the test as soon as possible before any untoward incident happens.
The Association also questioned the government why it had not issued a notification earlier if it intended to select the State Nominees for MBBS and BDS courses from the merit list of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by CBSE this year.
