CCpur gears up to contain Covid-19 spread

Against the back-drop of reported rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in Churachandpur district in the last few days, the district administration and Health authority on Wednesday issued Covid-19 preventive measures and advisory for the public to follow in order to contain the spread of the pandemic.
A circular jointly signed by deputy commissioner Sharath Chandra Arroju and CMO Dr Kimngaihching Simte also urged all schools for strict adherence to the order for closure of schools till July 24 issued by the Education (S) department.
At the same time, Churachandpur district recorded three new cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday.
The circular advised the public and officials concerned to scale-up COVID vaccination of all age-groups and urged people who have not been vaccinated to come forward for the inoculation.
It informed that fixed COVID Vaccination Session sites are opened at District Immunisation Centre (DIC) and government health facilities like CHC Singngat, PHC Sagang, PHC Saikot, PHC Behiang, PHC Sinzawl and PHC Thanlon.
It also stated that Outreach Session site may also be arranged.
Mandatory testing will be made for every new entrant/ returning from outside the state for COVID-19, the circular said and directed Health staff posted at PHC Behiang and PHC Sinzawl to test the entrants irrespective of place of origin.
The district administration and Health authority also requested the public to abide by COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour at all times, such as use of mask and hand sanitiser, maintenance of physical/social distancing and avoiding crowded places.
There should also be mandatory testing for person(s) suffering from Influenza-like Illness (ILi) and Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) cases.
Persons who suspect themselves or are having symptoms of COVID-19 must come forward for testing at District Testing Centre (OTC), CMO Campus and Accredited Public & Private Health Facilities for testing, the missive added.
Meanwhile, out of 19 people tested through the RAT process, one male and two females turned positive for Covid-19, according to a data released by District Surveillance Officer/IDSP, Churachandpur.
