KNLF camp shifted from Semol

The designated camp of the Kuki National Liberation Front located at Semol was shifted, according to highly placed sources.
The members of this outfit had surrendered to 9 Assam Rifles, Moreh on September 9, 2013 .
The have been staying in this designated camp since last year with the approval of the ministry of home affairs.
It may be recalled that on May 9 the village chieftain of Selhao identified as Seimang Haokip, four villagers and six construction workers were bashed up by some inmates of the designated camp.
The terrified villagers have been staying in the office of the BDO, Khengjoi, demanding the shifting of the designated camp.

The chieftain said that from time to time some inmates terrified them with gunshots and other terror tactics.
Despite assurances the torture continued.
Besides the villagers were told that men and women and children will be gunned down if they go to press and security forces to lodge any complaint.
In view of the stand off the designated camp was shifted on Tuesday to the Hermon designated camp under Tengnoupal police station where the KNO cadres are lodged.
Police and personnel of 6 Dogra Regiment escorted them to the new location.
The villagers are likely to return to their village shortly.
