CATC-08 for Air Wing NCC cadets held

Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)-08 for Air Wing NCC cadets was organised by 1 Manipur Air Squadron NCC, Imphal Group from June 28 to July 7 at JNV, Khumbong.
According to PRO (Defence), the camp was attended by Air wing cadets of NCC including 139 girl cadets, from 20 schools and colleges of Manipur.
The aim of the camp was to prepare the cadets in appearing the upcoming 'A' 'B' and 'C' certificate exam and to select the cadets for upcoming Pre Vayu Sainik Camp which is scheduled to be held in Jorhat from August 21 to September 21.Cadets were imparted training on weapon handling, foot drill, arms drills, physical Training, common subjects and special subjects for Air Wing.
During the camp, a total of 24 cadets were also imparted flying training on Microlite aircraft.
Special lectures on first aid awareness programme along with mock drill were delivered by Dr Arunkanta, Dr Bankim Chandra and team of Indian Red Cross Society, Imphal West.
Dr Joysan of Public Health Centre Khumbong also delivered a lecture on first aid.
Furthermore, stimulating and thrilling weapon displays were also conducted for the cadets by 16 Assam Rifles at Keithelmanbi.
Medical Directorate, CMO Imphal West, Public Health Centre Khumbong and JNV Khumbong principal Ellore Golmei extended full support in making the Combined Annual Training Camp-08 a successful event.
The camp was conducted under the supervision of 1(M) Air Squadron NCC Officer Commanding wing commander M Herojit while NCC, Imphal Group Commander brigadier Sandeep.
