Imphal, September 07 2015:
Indigenous Peoples' Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) has observed the 1st foundation day on Monday at Manipur Press Club here and distributed scissors along with cloths to 40 barbers to mark the occasion and also with an aim to develop the work culture in the Manipuri society.
Former minister Dr M Nara, former MLA Khumukcham Joykishan and IPAK chairman Sapamcha Jadumani took part in the event as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Nara said that the first and foremost thing to do on the ILPS issue is to implement the three bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 last.
People will have to implement the bill and not by physics or chemistry, said Nara, adding that protection of tradition and custom of a particular community has been a universally accepted job.
Condemning the harsh statement of former MP of Bihar Papu Yadav, Nara also called on all the communities in the State to remain united by recalling that all the communities in Manipur were all tribals before.
