DGP endorses Home Guard's demand

Director General of Police Shahid Ahmed has assured increment of Home Guard's pay at the 52nd Home Guard rising day celebration held at Home Guard complex, Lamphelpat.
Home Guards are no less important than State forces.
They play active roles during times of natural calamity, election as well as State issues, Shahid Ahmed said.
The DGP promised to move the higher authorities to increase home guards' pay by Rs 1000 .
Stressing the need to address accommodation, transport and other basic necessities of home guards, the DGP maintained that it is important to hold special training for Home Guards and also strengthen its tie with the State police to improve service efficiency.
Special Director General of Police, AP/TRG/HG, P Mallana Goud said there is a need to upgrade the services and functions of Home Guards at the National level.
He further assured that he would urge authorities concerned to address the Home Guards' demand to increase their pay.
