Court directs Sajiwa Jail authority

Session Court Imphal East has directed the Sajiwa Jail authority to provide adequate medical facility to the alleged murder accused Th Nando and James Kuki who are presently lodged at the jail in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Congress Minister Francis Ngajokpa's daughter Lungnila Elizabeth.
The alleged accused Th Nando and James Kuki were brought before the Session Court for the ongoing trial against both of them while another alleged accused Romen failed to appear before the Court but his counsel filed a dispense application before the Court.
As the prosecution witness failed to appear before the Court today, CBI counsel prayed for another date for production of prosecution witness.
The alleged accused submitted before the Court that he was advised for conducting MRI test but the jail authority did not take up any steps for that.
Alleged accused James Kuki also submitted that he is also advised to undergo surgical operation at Shija Hospital as per the medical report but still no action has been taken up by Sajiwa Central Jail Authority for sanctioning amount needed for treatment.
After hearing submission of both alleged accused, the Court directed Sajiwa central Jail authority to take up necessary steps for giving proper medical treatment to both the alleged accused persons as soon as possible.
The Court later fixed November 5 as the next date of the trial case.
It may be mentioned that Lungnila Elizabeth, daughter of then RD and PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa was kidnapped from her school (Little Flower School) on November 4, 2003 and her dead body was found on November 12 same year from Heinoubok area under Lamphel Police Station and later the case was handed over to CBI for investigation.
