UKLF announces total ban on narcotic drugs

Imphal, March 05 2023:
The armed United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) announced total ban on illegal trading and dealing in narcotic drugs in Tengnoupal and Chandel districts, and other UKLF operational areas with immediate effect.
In a release, UKLF raised concern over the growing number of drug users among the youth, stating: "Youngsters have fallen victims of substance abuse and lives of many youth have been ruined by narcotic drugs.
Future generation is at stake" .
"In line with this, our (nam) government; Government of Khulmi with a view to initiate a healthy future prospect in our habitat has made a firm stance to check the rampant use and smuggling of contraband/substances business" .
"Hence, anybody found involved in this infamous business will be dealt with befitting punishment without any consideration/leniency.
Moreover, in defiance of this directives anybody who got arrested or caught by government agencies (police, customs, army/security forces and the likes), will be given the same weightage amounting to the crime/guilt" .
"They will be considered a malignance to the society and desirous of any retribution," the UKLF stressed.
UKLF further mentioned that it had banned heroin, WY drugs and other narcotic substances since the past years and will continue to do so.
The organisation also appealed to village chiefs, tribe leaders, CSOs and public to extend support and cooperation to the initiatives taken up by UKLF.
