MLA Shyam extends cash aid to differently abled

As part of his initiative to encourage youth of his constituency by providing loans to help their fledging business, Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam on Sunday extended monetary aid to two differently-abled people to help in their ventures.
The MLA provided the monetary as -sistance to Nongmeikapam Suvanka of Shamurou Mayai Leikai and Thokchom Surbala of Awang Khunou Mamang Leikai.
The MLA handed over the cash assistance to both the individuals by visiting their respective residences.
Suvanka is a polio patient since he was three with both his legs and left hand paralysed.
Despite his physical challenges, he has been taking up mobile repairing services with the help of his right and teeth and earning a livelihood.
Thokchom Surbala is taking up painting, tailoring and handicraft works in addition to establishing the Training Centre Society for Disabled Persons, Manipur and providing training to differently abled people like her.
Speaking to reporters in this regard, MLA Shyam pointed out the need for extending support to differently-abled people and ensuring them their basic rights.
He also lamented that many able bodied youths are going astray and falling into the habit of drug abuse while significant numbers are staying idle without doing anything worthwhile.
Informing that he has extended his support for providing loans to budding entrepreneurs beyond his constituency, the MLA said he has been able to provide loan to altogether 140 people without any interest while opining that all MLAs should also provide certain assistance for the welfare of all.
