Biswajit exhorts students to work hard

Eight students from general, OBC and ST categories, who secured highest marks in science subject in the HSLC examination-2022 conducted by BSEM, were presented with state awards under the Science Popularisation Scheme.
The awards were distributed during a State-Award and Smartcane distribution programme organised by Department of Science and Technology at the auditorium hall of Manipur Science Centre, Takyel, here, on Friday.
The awards carry cash prize of Rs 10,000 and certificate each.
In his address as chief guest of the function, Science & Technology minister Th Biswajit reminded that though a good student is always the pride of parents, he/she needs to work hard while there is still time as it is the only formula to achieving the goals and taste success in life.
Highlighting the importance of science and technology in this age, the minister observed that there are many scientists in Manipur, who could assist in further advancing the science and technology of India, which is almost at par with other developed nations.
"We need to promote Make in India' to utilise available resources and help realise PM Modi's vision of a technologically advanced India," the minister said.
Biswajit continued that students also play a vital role in determining whether a school is good or not.
There is the need for transformation after reformation and performance.
He then urged for promoting science and technology, while exhorting the Department of Science and Technology to create more innovative products.
It is the role of everyone to help in the nation-building, he said, while emphasising the need for adapting and integrating nature and scientific ideas side-by-side.
The function was presided over by Science and Technology Department director Homila Hongray.
