MSCW Chairperson visits rescued women

Nepal women who were rescued and currently lodged at Ujjawala Home, Keishampat will be provided all necessary help and care, said Chairperson of Manipur State Commission for Women Dr Meinam Binota today.
A team of the commission led by its Chairperson visited the women at the home and later briefed media persons at her house in Pishum Chingamakhong.
About 101 women including many teenagers were rescued yesterday following series of raids at different places.
When asked if this was the case of human trafficking, Binota said that no conclusion can be drawn at the time as authorities are yet to ascertain the destination of the women and the reason behind their travels.
Rescue operations are still on, she said.
