As announced earlier, student community of Kangpokpi district staged sit-in-protest on Friday to denounce the killing of Seigunlal Misao at the victim's native village Motbung in Kangpokpi district.
The protest held under the aegis of Joint Action Committee on the brutal murder of Seigunlal Misao, was participated by hundreds of students from different schools from in and around Motbung area.
The protesters held placards and raised slogans such as, "Solve the crime before it's too late", "We don't feel safe anymore", "Arrest militant outfit NRFM", "A mother's only hope, you have destroyed", "Who will shoulder the world of the mother in grief", "We shall mourn until justice is delivered", "No justice, no peace", "Justice delayed is justice denied", "We condemn soulless and inhumane act", "The death cry out for justice", etc.
A student protester questioned why the government is silent over the brutal murder of Seigunlal Misao even when the culprits had already claimed responsibility and asked: "If you do not do your duty, then what is the purpose of having a Government?" "The Government must do something to deliver justice in the Seigunlal murder at the soonest possible, otherwise, the students' future will be very bleak," she added.
Joining the condemnation chorus, another student appealed to the state government to bring justice and stand firm in fighting for justice.
"No reason, no excuse can justify this cold-blooded murder.
We want justice for our brother Seigunlal Misao," chipped in yet another student on the sidelines of the agitation as her colleague said Seigunlal Misao was innocent and the allegation levelled against him as a drug peddler is baseless.
"The students' life is at Stake and we want disturbance-free education in Manipur.
Even God will not forgive such a barbaric act on the innocent student," she added.
According to JAC, the sit-in protest will be continued on Saturday in Saparmeina area followed by series of agitation in various other locations as well till April 4 .
