Centre to fulfil shortages of Imphal SAI soon: Sonowal

Imphal, May 23 2015 :
Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday assured to fill up shortages in the SAI (Sports Authority of India) Centre at Takyelpat, Imphal.
Accompanied by prominent leaders of BJP Manipur Pradesh including its president Th Chaoba, Sonowal inspected the SAI Complex.
The minister was here in a two-day visit to the poll-bound Manipur.
During the visit Sonowal inaugurated a state-of-the-art modern fitness centre for the SAI players.

He assured that shortage in facilities of the SAI, Imphal will be fulfilled by the Centre soon.
Speaking at the inaugural function, the minister said that Manipur players have been making significant contributions in the area of sports bringing laurels and achievements to the country and added that the Narendra Modi-led Government at the Centre is very much aware and thankful for this feat.
He assured that the Central Government is considering all possible steps and measures to further develop the sporting potential of the players of the State.
Later, the Union Minister inspected each department and section of the centre, and checked the present condition of the equipments and the machines.
Apart from Th Chaoba, State BJP leaders including general secretary M Ashwinikumar were also present during the function.
The minister also visited Khuman Lampak Sports Complex here to oversee its current condition yesterday.
Thereafter, Union YAS Minister met Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi and his council of ministers at the CM's bungalow.
A reliable source said that the present law and order situation of the State and the security measures for the coming Autonomous District Council (ADC) polls scheduled for June 1 were discussed during the meeting of the two leaders.
From there, he went to Manipur's famous Loktak Lake in Bishnupur district along with party leaders.
The team also visited the Water Sports Complex set up on the lake itself.
Sarbananda left Imphal for Delhi at 2 pm thereby winding up his two-day trip to Manipur.
