In addition to conducting blood test, ultrasonography imaging and cancer detection of around 800 women, medicines were distributed free of cost during the camp.

Speaking at the occasion, Lokeshore pointed out that with exception to Yaiskul and Wangkhei, the rest of the Assembly segments under Imphal East district are rural area.
So, the people and more particularly the women in these Assembly segments have no proper access to health care.
Recalling that his late father Nabakumar had worked for the development and upgradation of the PHC at Sagolmang, which has also been extending medical care to the people of Saikul and its surrounding area, to the status of a district hospital while he was the MLA of Khundrakpam Assembly Constituency, Lokeshore noted that today the State Government has taken a decision to the effect of upgrading the PHC to the status of a district hospital having 100 beds.
This is the beginning of realisation of the dream that his late father had dreamt, he said, while expressing gratitude to the CM.
Upgradation work on the PHC would commence from next month and it would be able to dedicate to the people as a district hospital by 2012, Lokeshore assured.
