Although movement of goods-laden trucks on the highway has been stopped, passenger vehicles are crossing the road through the old Barak bridge .
50 petrol tankers, 52 diesel tankers, seven kerosene tankers, 51 LPG tankers and 36 FCI trucks have been stranded near Makru bridge.
As Imphal-Dimapur road has been cut off by landslides in Nagaland, the State Government had instructed the DGP to allow movement of loaded trucks weighing not more than 24 tonnes on Imphal-Jiribam road .
At present, there is petrol in stock for six days, diesel for 26 days and LPG for two days, informed the source .
It may be mentioned that on July 15, 176 empty trucks and 26 bullet tankers had left for Guwahati to load fuel and cooking gas.
Works Minister Th Biswajit informed that repairing work of the bridge is underway.
