Curfew extended for another 10 days

Imphal, May 17 2021:
Given the rapid spread of Coronavirus, the State Government has extended the curfew imposed in 7 districts-Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul for another 10 days.
The curfew will now be effective till May 28, 2021 .
According to an office memorandum issued by the Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar, activities such as child protection service (orphanage, children homes, observation homes); home delivery service under ICDS/ICPS (supplementary nutrition for children, pregnant and lactating mothers); home deliveries of various goods and services (food items, vegetables, groceries, medicines etc) including e-commerce platform; banking service with limited staff on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 2.30 pm for urgent Government and non Government transaction only; ATM services including refilling of cash; sale of fish feed, animal feed, milk and milk product, fish, poultry and poultry products from 7 am to 2 pm for purchase by locals and postal service with limited staff on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 2.30 pm are now incorporated in the permitted list.
Local vegetable vendors are allowed to open from 7 am to 10 am for purchase by the locals on May 20, 23 and 26.The vendors are advised to be seated at least 6 feet away from one another and compulsorily wear masks.
One out of three grocery shops of the total shops/vendors in one location shall be allowed to open on rotational basis from 7 am to 10 am on May 20, 23 and 26, the office memo said adding that only alternate rows will be allowed to open if the shops or vendors are located in congested rows.
All the shopkeepers and vendors are advised to adopt a queue system.
Vehicular movements, however, are still restricted even during 7 am to 10 am.
The office memo mentioned that Ima Keithel and its adjoining markets and local markets at Khurai Lamlong, Andro Parking, Lambulane, Kongba, Pishumthong, Kwakeithel, Nagamapal, Singjamei Bazar, Wahengbam Leikai and major markets in other districts will remain closed.
Healthcare facilities, including animal health care, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and movement of healthcare workers; all pharmacies including those selling veterinary medicines; all persons going for Covid vaccination, testing and medical emergencies; all employees and staff working in media, power, fire service, PHED, CAF & PD, Home, Health, Relief and DM, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Finance and Treasuries, Police Department and districts administration and movement of good vehicles including those carrying construction materials, oxygen, LPG and Oil tankers; vehicles of essential services like power supply fire service, water supply, waste garbage, clearance, public distribution system, medical/Covid services, internet and telecom service providers and vehicles of personnel of departments/organisations permitted to be functional are also exempted from the purview of the curfew.
Opening of petrol pumps and LPG outlets and movement of IOCL staff will also be permitted, said the notice and added that Imphal airport will also remain opened and movement of staff and passengers will be permitted.
Hotels for lodging will also be allowed to remain open with minimum staff.
Restaurants will remain closed.
For other nine districts of the State, the instruction issued on May 7 will continue with certain additional guidelines.
Residents of the 9 districts - Senapati, Kangpokpi, Kamjong, Tengnoupal, Chandel, Pherzawl, Noney, Tamenglong and Jiribam are restricted from travelling to the districts where curfew has been imposed and vice versa.
Villages/Leikais without Covid cases should be encouraged to display "My village/leikai is Corona free" at the entrance of their village or leikai.
The Deputy Commissioners are advised to constantly monitor the spread of the infection in the district and areas within the district.
