Imphal, June 12 2009:
Taking serious note of extensive damage caused to National Highway 39 stretch between Mao and Maram by private telecom companies like Vodafone and Aircel as a result of the excavation work on the side of the road to lay cables, Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) has appealed to these companies to discontinue the work till monsoon season is over.
|
In a statement, Commander of 15 BRTF Col KS Malladi pointed out that unplanned and haphazard execution of the work being executed during the rainy season is threatening to undo all the work done by the BRO to improve the road.
As a result, a lot of difficulty is being faced by the commuters and the condition of the road is likely to be badly affected.
So in the interest of the people these private telecom companies should discontinue their work till the time monsoon is over, the Commander urged.
