Imphal, April 12 2016:
The CorCom has denounced the conflagration that broke out at Mayang Imphal Konchak Makha Leikai, Imphal West district between two communities yesterday.
The death of two youngsters after they were thrashed by a mob at Mayang Imphal Kokchak on the charge of attempting to lift a vehicle deeply anguished a particular community which ultimately led to violent confrontation between two communities, the CorCom remarked in a press release issued by its media coordinator Ksh Yoiheiba.
CorCom opposes any form of communalism and mob justice.
It appealed to leaders of different communities to take pro-active roles so as to avert all forms of communal conflicts.
There have been repeated incidents of mob justice on account of prolonged denial of justice under the alien rule.
There are many elements who have a tendency to ignite communal conflicts and mob justice at the first available opportunity.
The Government of India has been consistently scheming to create animosity and distrust among different communities of Manipur so as to destroy the organic character of Manipuri society and ultimately suppress the liberation movement, it alleged.
Communal conflicts which broke out in the State in the past had the hands of Indian intelligence agencies.
They connived with pseudo revolutionary groups to ignite such communal confrontations, it further alleged.
It then appealed to all the people/communities to trust in the bond of unity and respect each other.
