Imphal, July 07 2014:
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has made a fervent appeal to all Congress MLAs not to project the party as mired by internal problems while in reality there is no problem at all.
While paying a visit to The Sangai Express (English Edition) Editor Hijam Rajesh at Shija Hospitals today, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam categorically stated that all the party's affairs should be managed under the wisdom of the Chief Minister.
The Deputy Chief Minister also interacted with the Editor's wife and provided monetary assistance.
Responding to a query raised by media persons, Gaikhangam admitted that some MLAs have been demanding replacement of the incumbent Ministers on the ground that have already completed two years and a half in charge of their respective portfolios.
This proposal has projected a false image of the party as if there are some internal strife within the party.
Such projection of the party in wrong light would erode people's confidence in Congress party.

Whatever events unfolding within the party are internal matters.
The MLAs' proposal has been already conveyed to the party's high command and the high command should decide the matter.
At the same time, all the party's affairs should be managed under the wisdom of the Chief Minister.
Stating that he would not like to comment on the matter, Gaikhangam asserted that the incumbent Government's first priority is stability and it is the wish of the Government to walk hand in hand with all the MLAs on the path of development.
Maintaining that some MLAs tend to create an issue out of nothing, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that there is no harm when any of the MLAs express their opinions or aspirations without project the party in wrong light.
The Chief Minister would have been certainly studying the matter.
Saying something in media one day and then another thing next day projects a very bad image as if the friends have turned foes.
Gaikhangam stated that he wished all the MLAs to focus on integrity and development.
It would be in the best interest of all if the MLAs retreat a few steps.
What is happening now might have appeared like a big issue to common people.
The high command is the final authority and the Chief Minister would do something on the matter.
There is nothing which cannot be corrected.
When media persons suffer any casualty or land in any hardship, the Government would do what it must.
The Government would also consider what it can do for the welfare of media fraternity, Gaikhangam assured.
