MPCC hosts Iftar party

With the spirit of spreading peace and harmony among the different communities residing in the State and country, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) hosted an Iftar Party this evening at Congress Bhawan, BT Road.
CLP leader and ex-Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, MPCC president Gaikhangam, Congress MLAs, ex-MLAs and Congress leaders including Wabagai A/C MLA Md Fajur Rahim, Sugnu A/C MLA K Ranjit Singh and Khangabok A/C MLA O Surajkumar attended the Iftar party.
Offering prayers to God (Allah) and having a meal together with representatives from Muslim communities marked the main event.
Speaking on the sideline of the event, Ibobi said that Congress party respects every community residing in the State and the country while reminding that India is a land of diverse religions and cultures.
Further stating that diversity and unity among various communities is the most significant richness of the country, he conveyed that MPCC hosted the Iftar Party to bring peace, harmony and prosperity among various communities in the State and the country.
When asked about the resignation of 12 MLAs from their respective party posts, Ibobi refused to comment on the matter.
