Imphal, December 03 2016:
National People's Party (NPP), State working president Ch Ajang Khongsai has announced that he would contest the forthcoming State Assembly election in Saikul AC.
This was announced by NPP State president Thangminlen Kipgen at a public meeting held at Ajang's Langol residence today.
Speaking at the gathering, Thangminlen Kipgen said that Khongsai Village Chiefs Committee Saikul AC, Khongsai Inpi Sadar Hills and Khongsai Inpi Saikul Block held a series of meetings and finally resolved to support Ch Ajang Khongsai.
Taking due note of this collective decision, NPP decided to field Ch Ajang in Saikul AC.
He went on to claim that 30 Khongsai villages out of 35 located within Saikul AC support Ajang.
Only BJP and Congress were talked in both the hills and valley of Manipur but both the parties had been tested again and again, Thangminlen said.

Manipur was literally put on fire when the BJP-led NDA Government inserted the words 'without territorial limits' in the cease fire agreement it signed with NSCN-IM.
Majority of the people settled in hill areas of Manipur are Christians and any activity which undermines one's religious faith is most provocative, he remarked.
On the other hand, all the people were aware of the Congress party's misrule.
Altogether 10 people were killed in ILPS related protest movements.
After all preparations were made, the State Government could not go ahead with its own plan of declaring Sadar Hills and Jiribam as full fledged districts.
On account of the indefinite blockade called by the UNC and demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes by the BJP Government, all the people of Manipur have been reeling under extreme misery.
As a political party, NPP is committed to establish good governance and bring positive changes in the State, Thangminlen asserted.
Ch Ajang Khongsai remarked that Saikul AC remains quite backward in several aspects although it is just 35 Kms away from Imphal.
Since 1972, 'outsiders' have been representing Saikul AC in the State Assembly and this is one major factor for backwardness of the Assembly segment.
The incumbent MLA too has not been doing anything for development of Saikul AC.
"Given this reality, the civil organisations and village chiefs resolved to support me with a clear message to the incumbent MLA to retire from electoral politics", Ajang claimed.
