Imphal, January 30:
Undeterred by the 'recent developments' all the rebel Congress MLAs who have been camping at New Delhi in pursuit of their 'oust Ibobi campaign' returned to Imphal today to be in time for the Budget session scheduled to start from February 1 .
The rebel MLAs returned to Imphal today following the assurance given by the AICC high command that their demand would be translated into action, said one of the dissidents on arrival at Tulihal airport today evening.
Abiding by the instructions of the AICC high command, MPCC president Gaikhangam and TD Minister DD Thaisii are still at Delhi.
Talking to The Sangai Express on arrival at the airport today, the dissidents said that they have come back to attend the Budget session following solid assurance that the Chief Minister would be removed by three members of the Congress Working Committee during a meeting yesterday.
The CWC members are AK Antony, Ahmed Patel and Prithiviraj Chauhan.
Pouring out their anger on Th Debendra, the dissidents said that the fact that he failed to come to Delhi despite being summoned twice by the AICC exposes his weaknesses.
This will not go unaddressed, they asserted.
Asserting that there will be no more headaches over the question of projecting their leader, the dissidents said that now the AICC will come up with an appropriate name to replace the Chief Minister.
After the session winds up, the dissidents have finalised plans to go to Delhi on either February 6 or 7 to pursue their agenda.
A new Chief Minister may however be named after the full Budget session, they said.
Meanwhile, Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya has clarified that he did not attend the meeting held between the dissidents and the Prithiviraj Chauhan on January 28.A meeting of the CLP was also convened by the Chief Minister at the conference hall of the Chief Minister's Secretariat.
The dissident MLAs who returned from Delhi today also attended the meeting, which discussed on floor co-ordination.
