Trader shot dead at CCpur

Imphal, October 29 2011:
A non-local businessman was shot dead by some unidentified persons at Henken area of Churachandpur district.
Bullet riddled body of Arunkumar Jain (24) alias Apura was discovered this morning at Henken area, located about 35 Kms away from Churachandpur district headquarters on the road to Sugnu, informed a police source.
Arunkumar Jain was from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
He ran a shop of spare tyres at the LIC building of Lamka.
He made his home at the same building.
He was reportedly abducted by some unidentified persons from Lamka at about 8.30 of the Diwali night (October 26) .
The abductors contacted Arunkumar Jain's family through his mobile phone.
Though it appeared that the businessman was abducted and killed in connection with monetary demand, it is not yet clear which UG group was behind the murder.
It is said that Arunkumar Jain could speak Kuki dialect fluently.
Police have picked up the corpse and brought it to RIMS mortuary.
Even as post mortem examination has been completed, the family have not yet claimed the body.
In connection with the incident, a case has been registered at Churachandpur police station and due investigation process initiated.
Meanwhile, CDSU and ZHRF have strongly condemned the murder of Arunkumar Jain.
