Imphal, June 27 2020:
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Government, there has been several positive changes in the North-East and the bond of love between the hill and valley people has become stronger, said Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
The Chief Minister made the statement during a video conference on the occasion of 'North East Jan Samvad Rally' organised by the BJP ST Morcha.
"Since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, there have been many changes in the North East.
In Manipur too, there have been many changes since the change in the Government (after 2017)," said N Biren.
Sharply attacking the former Congress Government, he claimed "there was divide among all the communities because of the Congress' divide politics.
"Though it has been merely three years since the BJP came to power, there has been enormous changes in the State.
There is no bandh, blockade now and the differences between the communities have gone," he said.
As there is BJP in the Centre also, roads and other infrastructure have greatly improved due to enormous funding.
Taking a dig at the Congress, he said their "planned" Look East Policy has been acted upon by the BJP and converted to Act East Policy.
Works are on to make the Imphal-Moreh road a 4 lane highway, he said.
Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Kiren Rijiju and Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu and others took part in the video conferencing.
