COVID-19 patient tests negative for 4th time

Imphal, April 27 2020:
The State's first COVID-19 patient from Thangmeiband who had been discharged from JNIMS after recovery has tested negative for the highly contagious virus for the 4th time.
JNIMS Director Prof Th Bhimo informed three samples including one belonging to the young woman from Thangmeiband were tested today at JNIMS and all the samples were found negative for COVID-19.The woman was tested positive for COVID-19 on March 24 and her sample tested negative for the fourth time today after a gap of 33 days.
It can be now be assumed that the young woman is free from COVID-19, Prof Bhimo said.
After she tested negative for the third time, the woman was discharged from JNIMS and she has been under home quarantine since then.
Even though she has been tested negative for COVID-19 for the fourth time, she has been advised to use masks and maintain social distance, added the JNIMS Director.
Notably, the State's second COVID-19 patient from Lilong too had been discharged from RIMS after recovery.
Yet, the man is still under home quarantine.
Meanwhile, the State Government is considering about bringing back State natives who are currently stranded at Manipur Bhavan, Guwahati by bus.
It is said that around 90 people including students are putting up at Manipur Bhavan, Guwahati.
They may be brought back within the next few days as the Government has already given its consent to bring them back by bus.
A number of natives of Manipur are also stranded in other cities of the country.
