GOC assures ex-soldiers

Red Shield Division GOC Maj Gen KK Sinha has said that he will discuss with the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh issues related to enhancing status/condition of ex-servicemen in Manipur.
The GOC gave his assurance during an interaction programme with ex-servicemen and war widows at Senapati today.
More than 500 ex-servicemen and war widows from different villages of Senapati and Tamenglong districts took part in the programme.
Karong AC MLA Alexander Pao, Mao AC MLA L Dhikho and Sekmai AC MLA Kh Devendro were also present at the occasion.
Addressing the solemn gathering, the GOC acknowledging valiance and resolve exhibited by troops in frontier areas of the country, also lauded the gallant contribution made by the personnel from Manipur.
fondly recollecting the glorious saga and history of courage exhibited by the personnel at various fronts, KK Sinha said: "gallant contribution for the cause of the nation, made by the personnel from the state of Manipur irrespective of the varied cultural diversity, is a glaring example of ethnic harmonization, worth emulating" .

He appreciated the veterans for having selflessly given the best of their years to the Nation.
The General said that he is aware of the difficulties faced by the ex servicemen post retirement and called upon the civil administration to responsibly come forward to alleviate the problems faced by them.
The GOC assured the veterans that all assistance will be provided and that their grievances will be suitably attended to.
Various agencies from the Army, Assam Rifles, territorial Army, Zila sainik Board, ECHS, SBI and State Government opened stalls to render assistance and spread awareness on pension, health, education, banking and insurance to resolve the problems of ex-servicemen.
Medical and dental assistance were also rendered during the event.
Transport arrangement for the participants hailing from far-flung villages of Senapati and Tamenglong districts was also made by the event host.
