The Congress Government in the State has failed to implement various welfare schemes taken up by BJP Government at the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for farmers, senior citizens, educated unemployed youth and needy people of the State.
This was alleged by Lok Sabha MP Prahlad Singh Patel who is also the BJP NE In-Charge while addressing the flag hoisting ceremony of Mayanglambam Rameshwor (Rame), BJP candidate in 37-Kakching Assembly constituency held at the candidate's residence at Kakching Makha Lou, Irum Ningthou Pareng today.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Prahlad Singh Patel maintained that BJP is firmly committed to developing all the Northeast States which is evident from the various development programmes taken up by the party since it came to power at the Centre.
He asserted that the party is ensuring much-needed health facilities, potable water, various schemes, construction of road and bridge and quality education in the State but the people are deprived of all the development programmes due to the failure of the Ibobi-led Congress Government.
The BJP Government had sanctioned crores of rupees for construction of road and bridges which are keys to development for the Northeast States including Manipur, he said.
He further said that railway line would be reaching Imphal soon and this would connect the State with Southeast Asia via Myanmar.
At that time, Imphal would become one of the developed cities, he observed.
