CCpur, July 25 2016:
At least one more private school has today announced a week long holiday in the wake of rising cases of viral fever in the district that has left hundreds bed-ridden and left health authorities scrambling to set-up two specially dedicated counters at the District Hospital.
The Dawn School which has recorded about 140 students on leave last week, has decided to close the school this week for lower section and until Wednesday for higher section due to the spread of viral infection among the students.
The school, according to a source, calculated the number of students affected by the fever today and after duly comparing it with last week's figure decided to declare the holiday as they witnessed a rapid increase in the fever cases.
A doctor in the know of the cases last week said closing schools is a good idea as viruses could spread rapidly among school children, from droplets.
Besides, rest is most needed for the ones suffering from Viral fever and school going children can get better rest if they know that their peers are not ahead of them taking regular classes.
Meanwhile, the district health officials have today set-up two dedicated counters to treat those down with viral fever.
It also claimed that fogging and vaccination exercise will continue to be carried out in the district, particularly in areas identified as prone to diseases.
