Imphal, May 24 2016:
Kangelipak Students' Association (KSA) has said that they will not remain silent on the issue of inclusion of a non-local in the selection list of the combined recruitment examination of Assistant Engineers conducted by MPSC.
Speaking to reporters, KSA president Moirangthem Laxman said that KSA has been urging the State Government not to appoint any non-local as its employee.
Despite this appeal, in its final result announced on April 30, one Dinesh Kumar from Andaman was found included in the selection list recommended by MPSC to the State Government for appointment as Assistant Engineer.
It may be mentioned that MPSC had recently conducted a combined examination for recruitment of Assistant Engineers (Civil and Electrical) for induction into different engineering departments like Public Works, Minor Irrigation and Power Department etc.
The KSA president said that Dinesh Kumar, who is currently staying at NIT Lamphelpat hostel, was found listed in number 3 in the selection list.
Laxman said that although KSA had requested the MPSC authority and Dinesh Kumar to have a joint discussion on the matter, both the parties failed to respond to the student body's request.
Moreover, MPSC conducted counselling of the selected candidates with adequate security measures today.
Saying that Dinesh Kumar also appeared in the said counselling, Laxman said that KSA volunteers staged a demonstration at MPSC gate against Dinesh Kumar's appearance in the counselling.
Maintaining that Dinesh Kumar must have a thorough knowledge about the wish of the indigenous people of the State, Laxman said that he must come to the office of KSA within two days to have a discussion on the matter.
Laxman further said that the State Government must consider people's wish and rectify its faulty recruitment norms in favour of the indigenous people.
