Imphal, November 23 2013 :
Expres-sing strong resentment that killers of MPP vice president Haobijam Manisana are at large, the regional political or-ganisation today accused the Government of Manipur of lacking commitment in crac-king the case.
Addressing a press conference held at its Mapal Kan- gjeibung office complex, MPP spokesman H Naba-shyam said the Chief Minister has already been intimated on November 16, three days after the broad day-light mur- der, to track down the killer but there is still no substantial break-through in the case.
Another appraisal to the CM two days later conveyed MPP's desire for a meeting between party representatives and the CM on November 20 which is yet to evoke a positive response from the latter, he claimed while opining that such indifferent attitude is unjustifiable.
Expressing that had the Government provided security cover to the slain MPP vice president after he (Mani-sana) received threat from certain quarters the party lea-der would have been still alive, he maintained that ins-pite of people from Manisa- na's native place (Thanga) questioning intention on the case MPP party had been abstaining from calling bandh or strikes taking into account inconvenie- nces such agitation would cause to the people.
He, however, cautioned that MPP might resort to intense agitation if the Government continues to ignore the matter.
