Imphal, August 23 2014 :
Even as disqualification proceedings have been initiated by the Manipur Legislative Assembly Tribunal against four Trinamool Congress MLAs, MLA Joykisan, turning the table against fellow MLA Th Shyamkumar, has filed a counter disqualification petition.
After All India Trinamool Congress State unit president Th Shyamkumar filed a disqualification case against four MLAs, the Assembly Tribunal took statements of the four MLAs in the office room of the Speaker a couple of days back.
In the meantime, a petition was filed seeking disqualification of MLA Th Shyamkumar who filed the disqualification case at the first place.
Charging Th Shyamkumar of indulging in anti-party activities, Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress president Kh Joykisan filed a petition to the Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker at around 1.10 pm today seeking disqualification of Shyamkumar.
Incidentally, Kim Gangte was appointed president of Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress (MPTC) in April 2010 by All India Trinamool Congress president Mamata Banerjee and Th Shyamkumar became an active member of MPTC in 2011-12, Joykisan said.
Th Shyamkumar's membership number is 664 and when he was admitted in the party, Kim Gangte was the party president.
Shyamkumar's reported assertion that he did no recognise MPTC was a clear case of working against the party.
He should be disqualified from being an MLA under the 10th Schedule of the Indian Constitution, Joykisan demanded.
