TA&Hills Minister inspects proposed medical college site

Imphal, November 22 2020:
Minister of Transport, TA & Hills, Vungzagin Valte visited the site of the proposed medical college near Mata village, Churachandpur today.
Speaking to media persons during his visit, the Minister said that the new medical college which would have 100 MBBS seats will be constructed over an area of 25 acres.
The construction work will start as soon as possible for the benefit of the young generations, he said.
The Minister also surveyed the best approach road to be constructed with a minimum width of 12 metres from Tiddim road.
The medical college will be funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The approach road to the college will be taken up by the PWD and construction of the medical college by the Manipur Police Housing Corporation Limited.
For the construction of the proposed medical college, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved and sanctioned Rs 325 crore.
The first instalment has been released to the State Government, he said.
Chairman, ADC Churachandpur, Khaipao Haokip, Additional Chief Secretary (Works) Paulunthang Vaiphei, Principal Secretary (Health & FW), Vumlunmang Vualnam, Chief Engineer, PWD, Deputy Commissioner of the district Pawan Yadav and other officials accompanied the Minister.
