Meanwhile, Manipur People's Party has today questioned the State Government why the recruitment process of Manipur police constable(male) 2013 batch was cancelled.
Speaking to mediapersons at MPP office located near Polo Ground, MPP president Nongmeikapam Sovakiran said that after physical efficiency test, written test and viva-voce have been conducted, cancelling the recruitment process suddenly is very surprising.
The decision is very inappropriate and unreasonable.
The Government has spent approximately Rs 46,15,90,000 during the recruitment process.
The Government has wasted the huge amount, he said.
"MPP will submit a memorandum regarding the matter to Governor Najma Heptulla.
The Government has claimed that it was a simple DPC cancellation.
However, it is not a simple DPC cancellation but a big scandal amounting to huge amount of money," asserted Sovakiran.
The Home Department has created a scandal of the century, he alleged while demanding a CBI probe into the matter.
DPC normally expires after one year but the Government took more than a year to assess it.
Even if the candidates do not file a PIL, MPP will file a PIL and fight for the cause of thousands of candidates, Sobhakiran asserted.
On the other hand, the 24 hours bandh called by the All Manipur Written Test Successful Candidate of Police Constable, Male 2013, today largely affected normal life at Kakching.
Bandh supporters at Kakching bazar burnt tyres at different places thereby blocking the road.
Shops and markets downed shutters and passenger vehicles remained off the road at Kakching owing to the general strike.
