Imphal, October 20:
In the wake of some political parties starting mobilisation works for the Parliamentary elections, RJD State unit president and national vice-president Wahengbam Nipamacha has instructed party workers to initiate pre-paratory work for the Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the office of RJD Churachandpur district council at Tuibong today, Nipamacha urged party workers to brace up for the Parliamentary election likely to be held in the early part of 2009 so that RJD can field its candidates both in the outer and inner parliamentary constituencies.
Hinting that he himself may contest for the inner parliamentary seat, he called upon the party workers to field a popular figure with established sincerity and competency from among Kuki community in the outer constituency.
In case RJD secures both the Parliamentary seats of the State and if RJD remains a coalition partner in the Central Government, one of the two MPs from Manipur will certainly get a ministerial berth in the Union Ministry, exuded the former Chief Minister.
Guest of honour of the occasion Md Hellaludin Khan asserted that the SPF Government led by Chief Minister O Ibobi will not be lucky enough to last full the tenure.
O Ibobis Government will collapse within a year and there will be a new man as Chief Minister of Manipur, he claimed.
Non-compliance of the instruction from party high command, denial of RJD to take part in the State administration directly, deterioration of the law and order situation in the State and the brewing discontent within the SPF Government are some of the reasons which will shorten Ibobis tenure as Chief Minister, Hellaludin observed.
Stating that nothing is impossible in politics, MLA Ngursanglur observed that success of an RJD candidate from Churachandpur even as there was no party office in the district means that more candidates will be successful if the party works properly with its own office in the district.
Charging that Congress MLAs elected from the district do not work in peoples interest, he claimed that rice quota brought to the district recently was due to his own initiative.
At present, he is working to avail SK oil to the people, Ngursanglur claimed.
the function was attended by numerous RJD MLAs, State unit leaders, newly elected district council representatives and village chiefs.
The new office was opened at Tuibong under the initiative of former RJD president Tinkhonei Haokip.
