Dance productions staged at JNMDA

Nachom and Asta Nayika, two recent dance form productions of Nimita Devi Nritya Ashram were staged today at JN Manipur Dance Academy auditorium.
As chief guest of the event, Thanga AC MLA T Mangibabu said with culture accorded respect and acclaim by the global fraternity there is growing need for providing all possible assistance to artistes of Manipur to enable them highlight the State's rich art and cultural heritage.
Regretting that inspite of Manipuri art and culture being revered throughout the world talented local artistes continue to suffer from want of financial assistance, the MLA nevertheless expressed elation that financial assistance being extended by the Central Government will definitely enable Manipuri artistes to sustain cultural excellence.
Despite primitiveness of Manipur in terms of development its cultural artistes have been regularly winning accolades at both national and international platforms, said the MLA who also attributed such richness of art and culture to the commitment by the local Gurus and veteran artistes.
Among others, Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh, NDNA president RK Tarachand, Manipur State Kala Akademi secretary S Vedeshwar Sharma and JNMDA director L Upendra Sharma also witnessed the dance form presentation.
It is informed that the productions were made with the financial assistance of union Ministry of Culture.
