Imphal, February 20 2014 :
State unit BJP members currently in the national capital to lodge complaint to the party's Central leaders on alleged indiscre-tionary conduct of State president Thounaojam Chaoba have asserted that there would be no let up in their campaign for ousting the State unit chief.
Speaking from New Delhi, the State BJP members asserted that Th Chaoba recommending a particular individual in connection with allotment of party ticket for the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat is against the collective decision adopted at a meeting of the State unit's core committee and State election committee.
Not only had Chaoba defied the collective decision and acted in violation of the BJP constitution in the matter but it has been confirmed and there are official documents that the State president recommended Dr RK Ranjan for the inner seat and Prof Gangmumei Kamei for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, they conveyed from New Delhi.
Accepting national general secretary (organisation) Ram Lal's observation that Chaoba recommending Dr Ranjan and Gangmumei Kamei was the State president's personal views, the BJP members said there would be no issue regarding Gangmumei Kamei but in the inner seat chaoba's conduct is unjustifiable for there is stiff competition amongst the ticket seekers for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Inspite of reiterating that the campaign to rusticate Chaoba from the top post would continue, they however appealed to party office bearers and workers to exercise maximum restraint and rely on peaceful democratic means to air dissidence against the president's alleged indiscretionary activities.
