At least 11 women were injured when police swung into action and dispersed a group of women on sit-in-protest during curfew hours today at Kangabam Leikai.
All the injured have been admitted to RIMS hospital and volunteers of the RIMS Helpline are extending their assistance to the victims.
The injured have been identified as K Borkeina, K Pishakmacha (60), H Sanatombi (45), N Ibenungshi (49), B Rita (44), H Yumjaoleima (48), K Tombi (40), K Muktasana (30), T Gangarani (40), T Mala (30) and A Leibakjeima.
One man identified as P Dorendro of Langathel is also presently undergoing treatment at RIMS after being thrashed by police commandos.
A sum of Rs 3850 was donated to the RIMS Helpline by six persons today.
The Helpline which opened from July 16 has received Rs 16,180 as monetary aid from 39 individuals till date as monetary aid.
