Imphal, March 17 2020:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has appealed to all the people not to abet communal conflict by citing the inter-village feud which took place at Chassad yesterday.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, COCOMI coordinator Sunil Karam lamented that the burning of several houses at Chassad village in Kamjong district last morning following a land dispute was a very tragic incident.

He said that COCOMI shares the grief and pain of all the victims.
He then appealed to all the people not to abet or fan communal violence by citing the Chassad incident and also not to misinterpret the incident from narrow political perspective.
COCOMI would extend all possible assistance towards restoring peace and normalcy in Kamjong and Chassad areas, Sunil said adding that a team of COCOMI would visit the troubled areas soon.
He also urged the State Government to extend all possible assistance to the victims and bring a permanent solution to the issue.
