Imphal, July 16:
The South Nagas Union of Nagaland State (SNUNS) has congratulated the Manipuri women who stripped off their clothings yesterday at the 17 Assam Rifles' gate in the heart of Imphal in protest against the killing of Th.Manorama by the Assam Rifles.
In a statement in Dimapur, SNUNS general secretary C Daipao said that the act of the Manipuri women was an outburst of the angers that had been accumulated since long time against the Armed Forces Special Power Act.
The SNUNS statement also stated that the Naga women should also oppose strongly as much as the Manipuri women do so as to remove all the black laws from the region.
The SNUNS then said that it fully endorses the 24-hours "Nagalim" bandh called by the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) which had begun from 6 am this morning demanding the removal of AFSPA, 1958 and other black laws that had been imposed in all the Naga inhabited areas.
