Kakching, September 15 2021:
Sugnu AC MLA K Ranjit has announced that he will be donating Rs 1 lakh every month from his salary to Sugnu Kendra Disable Person's Welfare Association (SKDPWA) for 4 consecutive months.
Addressing a registration number handing over ceremony of SKDPWA at Kakching Khunou Bazar today, K Ranjit continued that he will consult with the department concerned to make sure the association gets all the benefits meant for a registered body.
On Covid management, the MLA said that the Government seems to be ignoring Kakching as the district doesn't even have sufficient ambulances.
Apart from not having a single water tanker to provide water to Community Home Isolation Centre, the task forces constituted to look into Covid related activities in the district are also not given the requisite money to function effectively, the MLA claimed and questioned the preparedness of Government to face Covid 3rd wave.
"How well is the Government prepared for the 3rd wave when there is so much inconsistency at the district even in dealing with the second wave," he asked.
The function was also attended by Sugnu Block Congress Committee president Kh Nimaichandra; Wangoo Gram Panchayat Pardhan Loitongbam Sharat Meitei; Sugnu Kendra Disable Person's Welfare Association president Krishnamohon.
At the function, two bus drivers were given Rs 1 lakh each for selflessly transporting Covid inmates amidst the pandemic.
