Imphal, March 14 2012:
Eighteen students of Imphal Public School (IPS) were not allowed to appear in the ongoing HSSLC examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) for Mathematics subject today.
Although, they reached their examination centre, Lilong Higher Secondary School, before 9 am, they found their roll numbers missing on the seating chart.
However, the Invigilator arranged separate seating arrangement, answer scripts and question papers for them after they requested him.
Even as the students were trying to fill up their names on the answer script, the school authority suddenly seized all their documents and examination papers.
Some of the students contacted the Principal of Imphal Public School, Kennedy over the phone and complained about the goof up.
The students went to their school as the Principal asked them to come there.
After listening the matter, Principal Kennedy brought the students back to the examination centre.
However, Principal of Lilong Higher Secondary School refused to make arrangements for them.
Later, Principal Kennedy left the examination centre informing that he would request the authorities of COHSEM about the matter.
However, he neither returned nor picked up his phone till late evening.
According to the students, all the necessary processes of form fill-up were done by the school authority except appending signatures on the forms by the students.
Mathematics subject was not mentioned/included in the admit cards of these 18 students.
The matter was informed to the Principal by the students in time.
However, nothing was done by the Principal in this regard.
